So on the one hand shows the sheath battle scene - the battle of the Cossacks and peasants, led Yemelyan Pugachev, with the regular army, and on the other hand - the capture and escorting Pugachev. The capture of Pugachev was not without treachery in his own squad - Cossack colonel decided to hand over to the authorities in exchange for a pardon. The plot began to ripen in mid- August, and September 8, the advantage of the absence of most of the Cossacks, the conspirators tied Yemelyan Ivanovic and handed him the centurion Kharcheva search party, which took him to Yaitsky town, which later had a meeting with Pugacheva Suvorov. Alexander asked with great curiosity about the rebel leader of its military actions. Ironically, it fell to him to escort Pugacheva in Simbirsk. For this purpose was constructed and installed on a cart close cell in which it was impossible to even stand up straight in full growth and spread your body. These moments of the life of a rebel Pugachev reflected on the scabbard of his saber. Drawings are made in etching technique.

On one side is written: "The people of the Orthodox  I am your king's father, the Emperor. Pugachev". On the other side of the blade is an excerpt from the order of Catherine II: « Rogue Emelka publicly executed on Bolotnaya Square". At the base of the blade above the guard adorns the Imperial monogram of Catherine. The sentence was executed on 10 January 1775. Standing on the scaffold, Pugachev was baptized at churches, bowed to all sides and said, " I'm sorry, Orthodox people, forgive me, what have I sinned against you ... I'm sorry, Orthodox people! " After a few minutes the executioner severed head was shown to the people and was on the spoke, the rest of the body - on the wheel.
